Export your accounts
Export hosting accounts as standard full-account backups that most hosting panels can import — websites, databases, email, DNS and cron jobs.
Export for another host writes a hosting account as a standard full-account backup that most hosting panels can
import: one cpmove-USER.tar.gz file with the account's websites, databases with their users and passwords, email
with every message and folder, forwarders, DNS records, cron jobs and SSL certificates. Nothing on the account
changes, and the file can also be brought back into HF Panel with Import accounts.
Where: Server Admin › Accounts › Accounts (each account's Manage menu), and Control Panel › Files › Backups for customers
Export one account
- Open Manage on the account's row.
- Click Export for another host.
The export is made in the background on the account's server. Reload the page to see how it is going; when it is ready, the account's Manage menu shows Download cpmove-USER.tar.gz with the file's size.
Export several accounts
- Tick the accounts in the list.
- Click Export for another host in the bar above the list, then confirm.
The exports are made one after another, so a server is never busy with more than one at a time. Download each one from its account's Manage menu.
Customers export their own account
Customers find Export for another host in the Download all your data card on their Backups page. The download link appears there when the export is ready.
What is in the file
| Part | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Websites | the main website's files in public_html, every other website and subdomain in a folder named after it, the rest of web/ as it is |
| Databases | every MySQL database as an .sql dump, its users with their password hashes and their privileges |
| every mailbox in Maildir format with its folders, password and size, and the forwarders | |
| DNS | each domain's zone file |
| Cron jobs | the account's scheduled commands, with website paths pointing at the new folders |
| SSL | each website's certificate and private key |
| Account | username, contact email, package name and the account's password hash |
Note: one export is kept per account; a new export replaces it. Exports are removed with the account's old backups after the number of days set under backup settings.
Tip: PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases are not part of this format. Export them from their own database pages before you move.
