Hostinger
Install HF Panel on a Hostinger VPS: the template to choose, the VPS firewall, port 25, reverse DNS, DNS records and the install.
Install HF Panel on a Hostinger VPS.
Read Choose a VPS and prepare it first: it explains each step in full. Below is what is specific to Hostinger. Providers change their menus from time to time; where a step is described in general terms, look for it in the VPS dashboard or ask the provider's support.
1. Choose the VPS and the system
Order a VPS plan (KVM) with 2 GB of memory or more. When you choose the operating system, pick a plain Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian 12 template. Do not pick a template that comes with a control panel or an application preinstalled. If the VPS already has one, use the VPS's OS settings to reinstall it with the plain template. Hostinger shows the server's IP address and root access details in the VPS overview.
2. Open the ports
Hostinger's VPS firewall is in hPanel: open VPS, select the server, then Security › Firewall. A firewall group drops everything that has no accept rule, so once you use it you must add an accept rule for each port: 22, 80, 443, 8443, 25, 465, 587, 993, and 53 (TCP and UDP) if you run your own nameservers. For a port that is not in the list of common applications, choose TCP or UDP and enter the port number. Make sure the group is applied to the server.
3. Port 25 and reverse DNS
Hostinger says it does not block port 25 itself, so a closed port is usually a firewall rule. Run the check; if it still reports outgoing port 25 as blocked, ask Hostinger support. Set the reverse DNS (PTR) of the server's IP to mail.yourdomain.com in the VPS settings if the dashboard has the option, otherwise ask support.
4. Point your domain at the server
If the domain's DNS is at Hostinger, open the domain's DNS / Nameservers page in hPanel and add the records from DNS setup: A records with the server's IP for @ and mail, and CNAME records to your domain for cp, srv, rs, fm, dbs, cld, dep, api, smtp, imap and ftp (or import the Download DNS file from the installer's DNS step). To use your own nameservers, add ns1 and ns2 as child nameservers for the domain, then change the domain's nameservers to them.
Check, then install
Sign in as root, then run the check and the installer with the command from your licence page:
cd /home && curl -o latest -L https://cdn.hostfog.com/latest && bash latest --check
cd /home && curl -o latest -L https://cdn.hostfog.com/latest/licence/YOUR-KEY && bash latest
Then carry on with After installation.
