Databases
Managed PostgreSQL, MariaDB and Redis databases for your HF Deploy services, linked as DATABASE_URL or REDIS_URL.
HF Deploy runs PostgreSQL 17, MariaDB 11 and Redis 7 as services of their own. A database is reached only by your own services, by its name; it has no address on the internet.
Where: HF Deploy (https://dep.yourdomain.com) › Services › Database tile
Create a database
- Click the Database tile.
- Give it a name and choose the database.
- Choose a size (databases never sleep, so there is no Free size) and click Create.
Its data lives in a volume of its own and is kept when the database restarts or changes size.
Connect a service
- When you create a service, choose the database under Link a database; or
- on a service's Environment tab, click Link a database.
The service then gets the database's address with the next deploy: DATABASE_URL for PostgreSQL and MariaDB,
REDIS_URL for Redis. The database's Connection tab shows its host, port, user (app) and copies the full
address.
